Five people from Hermiston injured in rollover collision

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Washington – Five people, all from Hermiston, were injured in a vehicle collision Monday night.

The Washington State Patrol said the accident happened on U.S. 12 near State Route 261 about 14 miles north of Dayton at 11:17 p.m.

Troopers said the vehicle, driven by Rafael T. Meras, 22, was traveling westbound on U.S. 12 when the driver lost control, struck the guardrail and rolled.

Meras and his four passengers were injured, including a 9 year old boy.  All were transported to Dayton General Hospital.  No information was released regarding their conditions or injuries.

WSP said Meras was driving too fast for conditions.
