WALLA WALLA, Washington – The Walla Walla Parks and Recreation Department has unveiled three projects it will undertake in 2020. They range from restrooms to fountain renovation.

Director Andy Coleman said that the department will be adding a restroom facility to Vista Terrace Park, located on the 900 block of Mountain Park Drive. Bids have been put out for contractors to perform site prep and connect utilities for a pre-fabricated concrete restroom facility that is similar to other park restroom facilities. Weather permitting that project will be completed by April 1.

Coleman said his department will also be working on adding a new playground structure to Vista Terrace Park as the current swing set is outdated.

Another project is the renovation of the wedding fountain at Pioneer Park.  Originally constructed in 1910, the fountain was recently taken down to prepare the site for sandblasting and powder coating. Coleman said the renovation will include plumbing that will allow the fountain to be on during most daylight hours. That project should be completed by July 1.
