WALLA WALLA, Washington – Travel between downtown Walla Walla to Eastgate just got easier as Isaacs Avenue from Division Street through Roosevelt Street has reopened. While the road is now open, the water, sewer and road improvement project is not quite finished as crews complete a bit of driveway and concrete work.
Barrels are in place to mark the middle of the roadway and barriers are still present at the intersections. Last week’s weather prevented crews from putting down temporary striping, but conditions are expected to dry out and crews will then reattempt to put the striping down. All work is expected to be completed by November 25.
According to City Project Manager Monty Puymon, the Isaacs/Roosevelt intersection will function as a four-way stop until traffic signal equipment arrives for installation in late December.
Stage 3 (Roosevelt to Wilbur) work will begin in spring 2020. The multi-stage, multi-year project is scheduled for completion in fall of next year.
