WALLA WALLA, Washington – Walla Walla police are actively investigating an incident that took place Monday morning with a woman carrying a knife. Officers responded to the 1500 block of West Rose Street at about 7 a.m. to a report of a woman walking eastbound carrying a knife. While officers were responding, a man called claiming he was being chased around by a woman with a knife.
WWPD Capt. Kevin Braman said that the woman had retreated back into an apartment by the time officers responded to the scene.
“Officers went to the apartment, negotiated with her for several minutes before she ended up willingly turning herself in,” Braman said.
The woman was transported to Providence St. Mary Medical Center for medical evaluation. Braman did not release the woman’s name.
“We’re still investigating that incident. We don’t know exactly if there are crimes that are going to be charged at some point,” Braman said.
