Shayla Fawn Record Tsosie, 22, was arrested Wednesday afternoon by Walla Walla police officers and a Umatilla County felony warrant for the homicidal death of Rodriguez Calvillo.
“Tsosie and Rodriguez Calvillo were significant others at the time of the incident,” said Milton-Freewater Police Chief Doug Boedigheimer.
Boedigheimer said the arrest occurred following a relatively short investigation by the Milton-Freewater Police Department, along with assistance from the Oregon State Police Crime Lab, as well as the guidance from the Umatilla County District Attorney’s Office.
Tsosie is currently being held on $5 million dollars bail in the Walla Walla County Jail and is awaiting extradition to Umatilla County.
In the early morning hours of June 21, the Milton-Freewater Dispatch Center received a 911 call at about 12:24 a.m. where a 22-year-old man was reportedly stabbed. Emergency crews and MFPD officers were dispatched.
Boedigheimer said that Rodriguez Cavillo was transported to Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla and died in route while being medically transported to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland.
