ATM thief is a no-show in court

WALLA WALLA, Washington – A College Place man failed to appear for sentencing Monday in Walla Walla County Superior Court in connection to the attempted theft of an automated teller machine.

Felipe Madrigal Ledezma, 31, was to be sentenced for attempting to break into the ATM vault in May at the Community Bank branch on Southeast Commercial Drive in College Place.

“Mr. Madrigal Ledezma failed to appear for sentencing and the court ordered the issuance of a bench warrant for his arrest,” Walla Walla County Prosecuting Attorney Jim Nagle told KTEL News.

Nagle said that Madrigal Ledezma failed to get any actual money out of the ATM. However, after the crime, College Place Police Chief Troy Tomaras told KTEL News that the machine was damaged. The entire incident was captured by a surveillance camera.
