Update on Highway 12 project is set

WALLA WALLA, Washington – The city of Walla Walla, Washington State Department of Transportation, Walla Walla County and the Port of Walla Walla will host an open house to share progress with the public on the ongoing US Highway 12 corridor study between Second Avenue and Airport Way.

The Walla Walla Public Works Department said in a prepared release the meeting will be an opportunity for the public to share input and learn about long-term alternatives being considered for improvement of the U.S. Highway 12 corridor, specifically at the Clinton Street/Lower Waitsburg and Wilbur Avenue intersections.

The city’s consultant, DKS Associates, will discuss the project’s purpose and need, project study methodology, existing and future conditions. Company representatives will also present various alternatives for consideration and comment.

The public open house will be held Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Walla Walla City Council Chambers, 15 N. Third St.
