OSP investigates semi vs. car crash

PENDLETON, Oregon – Oregon State Police troopers responded to a motor vehicle collision Thursday night at about 10:30 involving a commercial truck and a car on Interstate 84 eastbound near milepost 203. When they arrived on the scene they found a 1991 Honda Accord wedged underneath the semi-trailer.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the semi rear-ended the Honda. The car then went onto the median. The driver over-corrected and the car then returned to the interstate, collided with the semi and became trapped underneath it.

The driver of the car was extricated from the vehicle and transported to St. Anthony Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. She is identified as Linda Legarde, 50, of Toppenish, Washington.

The driver of the commercial vehicle was Dmytro Ozdoyev, 26, of Portland. He was not injured in the crash.

OSP reports that the investigation is continuing.
