WALLA WALLA, Washington –The woman alleged to have stabbed and killed a Waitsburg man will be arraigned today. Leslie Moreno, 25, was taken into custody Dec. 28 by Walla Walla County sheriff’s deputies in connection to the alleged murder of Marcus Alessio, 25, also from Waitsburg.
According to the sheriff’s office, dispatchers received a call of a possible assault on Wheatland Drive in Waitsburg. The caller told dispatchers that they were driving Alessio to the hospital and that Alessio was suffering badly from a knife wound. First responders met the vehicle on the way to St. Mary Medical Center and transported Alessio the rest of the way, but hospital staff declared Alessio dead after multiple attempts to save his life.
According to the release from the Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation led the deputies to arrest Moreno on a charge of second-degree murder. She is being held in Walla Walla County Jail on $250,000 bail.
In the release, Moreno and Alessio were listed as living at the same address on Wheatland Drive where the assault took place.
