23-year-old Walla Walla woman killed in this morning’s wreck

COLLEGE PLACE, Washington — A Walla Walla woman was killed this morning at the intersection of Old Milton Highway and Highway 125 in a four-vehicle accident.

Washington State Patrol says the cause of the crash is under investigation. Flor Perez, 38, of Walla Walla, was southbound on Hwy 125 driving a Yellow 2002 Nissa XTerra approaching Old Milton Highway and failed to yield to the traffic control device. Perez struck the vehicle of Sydney English-Hawkins, 23, of Walla Walla, who was driving a Hyundai Sonata on Old Milton Highway with two children in the backseat — ages 3 months and 1 year. Both children were transported to Providence Saint Mary Medical Center. English-Hawkins was not wearing a seatbelt.

Perez’ vehicle also struck a 2003 Volkswagen Passat driven by Ruby Gonzalez-Romero, 27,of Milton-Freewater and a 2013 Volkswagen Jetta driven by McKenzie Fuhrman, 24, of Weston. Perez and Gonzalez-Romero were transported to Providence Saint Mary Medical Center with injuries. Fuhrman was not injured in the accident.

The incident is under investigation, and charges are pending.
