Weather conditions prompt burn ban in Walla Walla County

WALLA WALLA, Washington — A burn ban is now in effect for Walla Walla County. The decision comes a result of current extreme weather conditions, and after consultation with fire chiefs, the county fire marshal, and the County Emergency Management  Director. The ban is effective immediately and is expected to remain in effect until conditions improve.

Fire burns in Weston on 7/12/18 causing evacuations. Umatilla and Walla Walla County fire crews worked hard to contain the fire.

For the period named, Walla Walla County will be imposing the temporary burn ban on all burning, agricultural and residential, as well as special. This ban would include other burning that would normally be allowed without a permit.

The Department of Ecology and Walla Walla County will update burn information websites and messages to reflect this information.
