Alleged TV thieves don’t make it past the parking lot

COLLEGE PLACE, Washington — Two thieves have allegedly tried and failed to steal from Walmart in College Place. They were caught last night around 10:00 p.m. allegedly exiting the store with a 55-inch screen TV valued at $648 along with a $68 sound bar.

Over the last two weeks, the suspects have allegedly walked out of Walmart with two TV’s that they did not purchase, according to police.

Police tell us Walmart personnel recognized the alleged thieves last night and called police. Andrew Demaris Jr., 24, and Karina Russell, 36, were taken into custody by College Place police and lodged in the Walla Walla County Jail on theft and organized retail theft charges.

Russell had an extra charge added during her arrest, when suspected heroin was found in her purse.
