WALLA WALLA, Washington — The Port of Walla Walla and the City of College Place are requesting access to Walla Walla’s water lines and water pressure in case of emergencies — such as a severe earthquake or a massive fire that would require temporary use of water. Walla Walla city council has not taken any official action as of yet, but conversation is ongoing.
“There wasn’t official kind of action,” says Walla Walla Mayor Barbara Clark. “The council did say move forward to working on contracts and working on agreements with them.”
The water would be available to College Place and the Port at a retail water rate, so they would pay the same amount per unit of water as any resident would pay for the water.
