PENDLETON, Oregon — Umatilla County is stocking up on some expensive heavy equipment. The price tag is just under $334,000 for a grader that will be used for maintenance, as well as a dump truck and a tractor for Public Works.
Board of Commissioners Chairman George Murdock says it’s all in the budget, thanks to good advance planning. “I think Tom Fellows, the roadmaster, does a wonderful job of putting together a long-term replacement process for his equipment.”
The grader is the most expensive piece at almost $300,000, but the county anticipates getting $125,000 credit for trading in its 2011 grader.
