COLLEGE PLACE, Washington — A 180-unit apartment complex will be coming to the growing City of College Place very soon.
The city’s hearing examiner has given the go-ahead to start development of the west quarter of a big open area on the corner of Myra Road and Whitman Street — looking forward to the installation of a 180-unit apartment complex. The complex will get started in the spring, which is just the first stage of a larger development that may include some shops, a potential grocery store, and possibly a hotel.
“We’re really excited to see that area develop,” said College Place Mayor Harvey Crowder. “Especially as their commercial retail starts to come in. It’s a great boon for the city. The availability of more multi-family housing is really important across our area.”
Developers already have a layout ready to go — it includes studio, one and two bedroom apartments, a pool and a clubhouse.
